GLAUCOMA

Glaucoma

Glaucoma is an eye disease caused due to an increase of pressure within the eye and is one of the major causes of blindness in the world. The most common form of glaucoma is called primary open-angle, it is mostly asymptomatic, progressing slowly but irreversible.

Glaucoma can be seen during an eye examination, so we recommend that you take tests to measure you eye pressure from time to time. The causes of glaucoma are still largely unknown but several risk factors have been identified including: high eye pressure, family history, myopia, central corneal thickness and vascular factors.
