STRABISMUS

Strabismus is a deviation of the visual axes caused by the malfunction of the extrinsic muscles. This problem causes evident consequences like loss of the perception of depth. This disease can be linked to the visual defects and to serious eye disorders. Among the main factors it includes:

-Inheritance

-Ocular abnormalities, such as cataract

-Refractive defects

-Paresis of cerebral origin

-Paresis of one of the eye muscles

Surgical therapy can be very decisive in difficult cases, and in adulthood.
